One day.
One voice.
One industry.

April 8, 2026.

We all carry dates that matter—birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, moments we return to year after year. They are more than points on a calendar. They help us remember who we are, where we come from, and what we choose to honour.

Yet there is something oddly missing.

Despite its emotional power, its cultural depth, and its presence at life’s most meaningful moments, the diamond industry itself has never had a shared date to speak to the world.

World Diamond Day was created to change that.

World Diamond Day is one fixed date, the same every year, when the global diamond community can pause, align, and celebrate natural diamonds together.

Just as World Water Day or World Cotton Day allow entire sectors to communicate clearly and coherently with society, World Diamond Day offers the natural diamond industry something it has long lacked: a shared moment of visibility, meaning, and collective voice.

This is not a sales campaign.
It is not a marketing stunt.
And it is not about competing narratives.

It is about meaning.

In a world saturated with noise, fragmentation, and short-term messaging, silence is no longer neutral. When an industry does not define its own story, others will do it instead—often incompletely, often unfairly.

World Diamond Day is a moment to rebalance that conversation.

For one day each year, the focus shifts away from price, carat size, margins, or competition, and returns to what diamonds have always represented: lasting love, commitment, transmission, heritage, and human connection.

A single day will not solve every challenge facing the industry. But it creates something essential: a point of alignment. A moment that returns. A date that endures.

April 8 was chosen deliberately.

April is the month of the diamond.
The number eight, in many cultures, symbolises continuity, balance, and forever.
April 8 is not a trend-driven choice. It is a date designed to last.

World Diamond Day belongs to everyone who believes in the future of natural diamonds—miners, manufacturers, cutters, designers, retailers, institutions, and the people who cherish diamonds to mark their most meaningful moments.

It is not owned by a single organisation.
It is built through collective participation.

As of today, World Diamond Day will be celebrated in 30 countries, with participants in South Africa, Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Egypt, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Japan, China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Belgium, Slovakia, Serbia, Poland, Switzerland, and New Zealand.

By joining World Diamond Day, participants will:

  • Gain access to shared digital materials to celebrate natural diamonds with their communities on April 8, 2026
  • Become part of a unified global narrative celebrating the enduring beauty, heritage, and positive impact of natural diamonds
  • Publicly demonstrate their commitment to the future of this industry

Supporting World Diamond Day is not symbolic.
It is existential.

It is a test of whether the diamond industry can still act collectively—for itself, for its legacy, and for future generations.

Because together, our voice is stronger than anything else.

One day.
One voice.
One industry.
