Renowned jewellery master Viktor Moiseikin proudly unveils the Emerald Water-Lily Brooch, a masterpiece that celebrates international aesthetics and craftsmanship, blending Eastern and Western perspectives. Drawing inspiration from Chinese calligraphy and ink painting, Moiseikin narrates his unique interpretation of water-lilies, symbols of peace and kindness in Chinese culture.
To create an artwork of water-lilies, it is inevitable to learn from the iconic painting “the Water-lily Pond” of the French titan of Impressionism, Claude Monet. Moiseikin artfully arranges the brooch with water-lily petals carved and inlaid in the style of Chinese calligraphy’s dynamic brushstrokes. Layers of sapphires and diamonds portray the luminous beauty of water-lilies basking in sunlight, paying homage to the freehand style of Chinese painting.
Moiseikin embraces the serene water-lily as a medium to express his passionate spirit. He integrates his innovative Waltzing Brilliance® technology into the brooch, allowing each diamond to rotate 360°, showcasing the gentle elegance of feminine beauty and the brilliance of his invention. This dynamic movement enhances the wearer’s vibrant yet serene aura, making her radiate like an ethereal water-lily angel.
The enormous Emerald on the pistil of water-lilies is the key of the work. The difference of the Emerald’s square cut and the winding silhouette of pedals illustrates the ultimate Chinese philosophy – Yin and Yang. This juxtaposition of stillness and movement, infused with Buddhist wisdom from deep meditation, enriches this cultural exchange of art.
