“I’ve been coming to Thailand for almost all my life, I can say that Thailand is like a heaven of gemstones, as almost all kinds of gemstones are available here in this country from all around the world. There are many talented cutters. The price is reasonable. And at the Bangkok Gems you have the chance of meeting with all the world’s gemstone dealers and then jewelers.”

“I think this fair especially is probably the biggest fair I’ve seen in a long time. This year I visited the designer zone; that zone stood out to me a lot. There are some really creative pieces that I haven’t seen before and also new materials that I’ve never seen. So, I’m really excited to go check out this floor especially and discover new pieces all around. The fair is very diverse, in terms of people, creators, collectors, and all kinds of offerings.”

“It doesn’t come overnight, but Bangkok is really a global hub for gemstone buyers. If you want to find a particular gemstone, Bangkok is the place to be. It’s a global business center for gemstones. And the Bangkok show is becoming more and more important in the last few years. Many gemstone companies that are members of the global association come from Thailand. That’s why it’s important to visit the Bangkok show.”

The top five visiting nations were 1. India, 2. Myanmar, 3. China ,4. Japan and 5. Sri Lanka. The fair also attracted a growing number of buyers from emerging markets, while total trade value exceeded 174 million USD, representing a 31% increase from the previous edition.
