This September, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA) proudly celebrated its 60th anniversary with a grand Diamond Jubilee event, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The celebration was marked by the hosting of the 2025 ASEAN Gems & Jewellery Trade Association (AGJA) Conference, underscoring Hong Kong’s global leadership in the jewellery industry and ASEAN’s growing influence.

The AGJA Conference brought together prominent industry leaders from across ASEAN and Hong Kong. Key speakers included Mr. Victor Chan, HKJJA Chairman; Mr. Benedict Sin, HKJJA President & Director; and Mr. Suttipong Damrongsakul, AGJA President. Their discussions focused on strengthening regional ties and building a unified ASEAN–Hong Kong jewellery network. Experts from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, and Hong Kong shared valuable insights on collaboration and emerging market opportunities under the moderation of Ma Lawrence Ma, Founding President of The Diamond Federation of Hong Kong.

Session 1: Creating a Unified ASEAN Jewellery Network with Hong Kong Expertise in Design & Trade

A dedicated session on innovation in jewellery retail explored how digital technologies are reshaping the industry. Led by Mr. Kent Wong, Chairman of The Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association of Hong Kong, the panel featured Mr. Alan Chan, Chief Brand Officer of Chow Tai Fook, and Mr. Terry Li, Vertical GM of Tencent Smart Retail. The discussion highlighted smart retail solutions that enhance operational efficiency, drive growth, and elevate customer engagement.

Session 2: How to leverage smart digital solutions to drive Efficiency, Growth and Profitability within the ASEAN Jewellery Network

With a population of over 600 million young, tech-savvy consumers, ASEAN is rapidly emerging as a key market for jewellery. The region’s abundant resources, creative talent, and rising demand position it as a strategic partner for Hong Kong’s jewellery trade.
