Bangkok Gem Night, a monthly networking event for the gem and jewelry industry, was started in 2024, largely due to the initiative of Mr. Simon Dussart of Asia Lounges, and the help of Ms. Billie Hughes at Lotus Gemology.

The idea is to have a casual, fun social gathering of people in the gem industry or anyone who has an interest in gems. The hosts want to build a sense of community in the Thai gem trade, and people from all background are welcome. The event also wants to give back to the community, so it is working to collect donations to the Mercy Center charity. The event has already raised over THB280,000 over the past few months!

What it is: A monthly social and networking event for people in the gem and jewelry trade.
Schedule: Held monthly on a Monday evening. Usually the first Monday of the month with some variations to fit the schedule of Bangkok shows and other important events, with dates announced on their social media pages.
Activities: Features include gem sales and auctions for charity, gem-themed cocktails, and networking opportunities.
Charitable aspect: A significant portion of proceeds from gem sales goes to support the HDF Mercy Centre, which helps children in the Klong Toey area.

Bangkok has a positive, friendly atmosphere that helps connect trade members worldwide. In the business circle, there are so many locals, foreigners, and “local-foreigners”. Have fun at Bangkok Gem Night when you are in town next time!
